Frosts has become synonymous with horticulture expertise since its inception in 1949. At the heart of the business are the fundamental core values of quality, teamwork, safety and innovation underpinning our continued success.

Frosts Landscape Construction Ltd has been involved in the construction of hard and soft landscaping projects for over thirty five years.  During this time we have carried out some of the most complex and technically demanding projects within the UK on the ground, on podium and at height with roof gardens up to the 20th floor.

Frosts Vertiscapes is a division of Frosts Landscape Construction, and specialises in the design and installation of Green Roofs and Walls within the UK.  Our in-house technical and practical expertise allows us to install and design innovative schemes from extensive roofs through to complex intensive roofs.  Roof Projects over the last five years include:

•     New Glasgow Hospital, Scotland.  Frosts have recently completed the 560m2  intensive roof and a 5,500m2 biodiverse roof, which is overlooked by the patient wards.  We worked closely with the lead Architect to develop and advise them on the plant species which will be right for their scheme.

•    62 Buckingham Gate, London.  Frosts have recently completed the green wall and green roof works (3 roofs - Levels 11, 12 & 13: Sedum/Biodiverse, Semi-intensive, Biodiverse) for the prestigious development in Victoria, London.  Won 2013 BALI Landscaping Award.

•    Library of Birmingham. Level 3 and Level 7 Courtyards, evergreen and perennial planting, also includes bird and insect boxes, herbs, annual vegetables, salad leaves and other edible planting to be used by the library kitchens.  Won 2013 BALI Principal Landscaping Award.

•    Media Centre, Olympic Park.  Flat, insulated inverted roof system with biodiverse/ brown roofing system laid over protected insulating boards to hot melt weatherproofing layer to concrete slab, planted with drought tolerant grassland species to create a stony meadow.  Species planted to encourage terrestrial invertebrates incorporating perennial species listed in the Olympic Park BAP.

•    Peacehaven, Nr Brighton (16,000m2) which is the largest grass roof of its kind in the UK and is probably the largest green roof installed in Europe with a depth of 200mm substrate. Won 2012 BALI Principal Landscaping Award.

•    Mint Hotel, London.  Installed an extensive green roof (350m2) and Europe’s tallest living wall (1050m2) on a building at the Mint Hotel in London.  Won 2011 BALI Principal Landscaping Award.

•    Ropemaker, London.  (593,000 sq ft) All terraces are paved with high quality blue limestone and the seating areas planned as triangular stone sculptures carved into the mound.  The result is an impressive building with 40 trees split between levels 8, 12, 16 and 20.  Won two BALI Landscaping awards in 2009.

•    Watermark Place, London.  Three terraces - levels 5 & 6 are intensive roofs both designed to exceptional high standard and constructed to very tight tolerances.  Level 12 received 2562m2 of extensive sedum mat laid around and under the Solar panels.
